The Liebster Award!

Hi guys! I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Amber of The Lacuna Stich! While I've been nominated for this award a few times in the past, I realized I've never actually done it. So today, you get to find out a little more about me, and see who I nominated to answer some of my own questions!

Here we go!

My Facts

1. My boyfriend, Skylar, and I will have been dating for 4 years this coming May.

2. My favorite type of dance is Jazz!

3. If I could live anywhere, I would choose England, or northern California.

4. I am currently playing in my college's basketball pep band (playing tuba, of course!)

5. I consider myself to be agnostic.

6. The first musical I was ever in was Bye Bye Birdie.

7. For all the whovians out there, my otp is Rose and the 10th Doctor.

8. In 2008, I spent 2 weeks in Europe.

9. One of my favorite things to do is sing to my cat, by singing popular songs and replacing words with her name. Yeah I'm pretty lame.

10. My absolute favorite band is Fall Out Boy, and I've seen them once in 2007. I'd love to see them again!

11. I am a junior in college, but I am planning to graduate in 2016.

The Questions

1. Was there another blogger who inspired you to start your own blog?

Yes, actually! I remember the first blog I stumbled upon (using stumbleupon, incidentally, haha!) was Delightfully Tacky. I had never even heard of fashion or lifestyle blogs before, and after discovering her blog and falling in love with it, I became obsessed with reading other blogs, and decided to start my own!

2. Why did you start blogging in the first place?

It started out of boredom, mostly haha! I loved reading other blogs and getting inspiration from them, and I just thought it would be fun to share my own personal style and things that inspired me with other people. 

3. Are you a cat person, or a dog person?

Cat person, all the way. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but I am definitely a cat person at heart.

4. If you could see any group in concert, who would it be, and why?

I am dyingggg to see Fall Out Boy again. They've been my favorite band since I was 13, haha. I saw them once in 2007, and I would love to see them again!

5. What's the riskiest thing you've done style wise?
Hmm, I'm not really sure! Probably chopping all my hair off last year, if that counts!

6. Have you ever had a crazy hair cut/color?

The craziest cut I've ever had was definitely the pixie cut I got last year! also, I've dyed my hair some crazy colors back in middle school...I wish I had some photos but my hair has been both pink & purple.

7. Does your family know about your blog?
My parents do, and I think they're pretty supportive of it. I'm pretty sure I have some extended family that reads every once in a while too (hi guys!)

8. If you could only wear one pair of shoes, what would it be?
Flats or sneakers of some sort, definitely. Probably a pair of oxford flats, because they can go with both jeans and dresses!

9. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Thrift stores, definitely! You never know what you'll find, and that makes it super fun. Plus, how can you say no to the prices?

10. What type of movies do you like to watch?
I like lots of different types of movies. I especially like scary movies, actually! And documentaries.

11. What would be your idea of the perfect day?
Sleeping in for a bit, lounging around the house with my boyfriend and a cup of coffee in the morning, and then venturing out to the mall or a park in the afternoon. It would be spring or summer time, of course! :) Then it would end with a bonfire with friends!

You're In Brookelynn's 2014 Reader Survey Results & Giveaway Winner!

Hello everybody! First off, I want to genuinely thank everyone who took my reader survey; it gave me lots of insight to what you all like, and what I can do to make You're In Brookelynn better! Today I'm sharing the results of the survey, plus at the end of the post you can find the winner of the $15 Amazon gift card!

Not much of a surprise here. College-age girls tend to stick with other college-age girls, haha! (Also, I didn't post a graphic of this, but all the readers were women. Big surprise, right?)

Again, not much of a surprise, when I only post a few times a week. To the person who visits every day, you're the best and we should be friends :)

Well, this definitely makes me want to update my facebook page more! Also, most of the 'other' answers said Bloglovin, so the 'blog reader' percentage could be a little higher!

Well, looks like I'm going to be devoting lots of time into advertising on other blogs, which is my favorite way of advertising anyways! Also, hello to everyone who knows me in real life, haha!

This wasn't much of a surprise to me; it seems like the content I like creating the most is everyone's favorite (aka fashion & photography). Also, I'm happy to hear that lots of people like my Friday Finds!

I'm really happy people responded to this question. This way, I can put more energy into other types of content!

I am really happy with how the results of this question turned out; You'll definitely be seeing more photo tutorials (I recently posted one about how to make a DIY reflector!). And I am super excited to start incorporating more music into the blog (I'm actually in a music fraternity, if you didn't know!). Plus, a little known fact, I play the ukulele, so maybe I'll post a cover or two? Let me know if you'd like to see something like that!
