You're In Brookelynn Design Board & Branding

Hey guys! I mentioned in my last Friday Finds that I'm working on a huge re-design of the blog, which I'm super excited about! I've been working on branding and mood boards like crazy, which is so inspiring. 

Anyway, before I make the switch, I wanted to share the branding board I made for You're In Brookelynn's current design! I had plans of posing this right after I re-designed the last time, which was over a year ago (!!!)

As you can see, I've made a few changes along the way to get to the design I'm at currently. I am still in love with this design, but I am definitely in need of a change. With my new design (which I'm planning on having on having completed within a month or so), I'm leaning more towards softer colors with a relaxed, minimalist approach. I can't wait to share it with you!

Hello everybody! First off, I want to genuinely thank everyone who took my reader survey; it gave me lots of insight to what you all like, and what I can do to make You're In Brookelynn better! Today I'm sharing the results of the survey, plus at the end of the post you can find the winner of the $15 Amazon gift card!

Not much of a surprise here. College-age girls tend to stick with other college-age girls, haha! (Also, I didn't post a graphic of this, but all the readers were women. Big surprise, right?)

Again, not much of a surprise, when I only post a few times a week. To the person who visits every day, you're the best and we should be friends :)

Well, this definitely makes me want to update my facebook page more! Also, most of the 'other' answers said Bloglovin, so the 'blog reader' percentage could be a little higher!

Well, looks like I'm going to be devoting lots of time into advertising on other blogs, which is my favorite way of advertising anyways! Also, hello to everyone who knows me in real life, haha!

This wasn't much of a surprise to me; it seems like the content I like creating the most is everyone's favorite (aka fashion & photography). Also, I'm happy to hear that lots of people like my Friday Finds!

I'm really happy people responded to this question. This way, I can put more energy into other types of content!

I am really happy with how the results of this question turned out; You'll definitely be seeing more photo tutorials (I recently posted one about how to make a DIY reflector!). And I am super excited to start incorporating more music into the blog (I'm actually in a music fraternity, if you didn't know!). Plus, a little known fact, I play the ukulele, so maybe I'll post a cover or two? Let me know if you'd like to see something like that!

Ain't that the truth. I've been looking on pintrest for some new mantras I want to focus on in 2013 (but it's never too early to start, right?) and this one is so relevant to me. You can ask Skylar, I'll call him wining that "I'm sooooo booooored" and he'll be like "well what are you doing?" and I'll say "uh...looking at tumblr." I mean, duh, tumblr is awesome, but there are so many other, more fulfilling things that I could be doing. I could paint. I could clean something. I could learn something new (like knitting! I will learn some day...maybe). I could go for a walk, call an old friend, write one of the many scholarship essays I should be working on. It's hard when you get stuck in the "bored" rut. I am going to try to break out of it :)

I don't have anything planned today, except seeing my lovely friend Lizzie and going to work after that. Maybe I will try to do something productive? We can only hope.
