You're In Brookelynn: Room Inspiration

Room Inspiration

Even though I've definitely got a few months until this semester is over, I am currently day-dreaming about when I get to move back home! As a 19-year old college student, I feel like I shouldn't be this excited about moving back in with my parents for a relatively permanent amount of time, but I really am. I'll be saving so much money, and I'll be able to re-connect with all of my Genoa friends! Anyways, I've decided that since I'll be moving back, I want to re-decorate my bedroom. It's not that it looks ugly or anything, it just reminds me of high school so much. I want to change it to reflect this new chapter in my life. I want to get out of the past!

Here's what it looked like while I was a senior in high school. Also, notice the intense mane I got goin' on.

My tentative plan is to clear everything out and start painting over spring break, so when I am done for the semester, I can just move all of my stuff in without dealing with anything that's already in there. I've already got some paint colors and such in mind, but here's some images that I've been inspired by!

This is the first DIY project that popped into my head when I decided to re-decorate. I got a desk from my grandma (that she actually built herself in her high school shop class back in the 50s...so cool!) for my apartment, and I would love to get a big mirror to prop on top of it and make a makeshift vanity!

I've been intrigued by the idea of using a window as a "headboard" of sorts. I feel like, throughout the years, I've basically re-arranged my room every single way possible, except for in this fashion. For some reason, I just thought you weren't supposed to put a bed up against a window. Well, maybe you aren't because of feng shui or something, but oh well. This is definitely a contender for bed placement.

This is what I'm thinking color-scheme wise, a combination of these palates. That bright blue color my room is painted now is pretty, but so loud. I want to be able to relax! I might paint the walls more of a light grey-ish purple, which isn't really shown on either of these.

The rest of the images are just random inspirations :)

  2. I actually love your room as it is there. That color is stunning (I actually thought about painting my whole apartment that shade). Anyway, I also love that sky blue from one of the pictures below. I'm sure you'll pick something nice:)
