Tutorial & Review: Kisspat Hair Chalk

Today I'll finally be talking about hair chalk! I received this set of 24 colors from Kisspat, and I am seriously in love. I had never used hair chalk before this, but it's super easy, and a great way to add temporary, fun colors to your hair!

For anyone who doesn't know, hair chalk is a temporary hair color that comes in a stick form that kind of looks like an oil pastel. Since it's temporary, it will wash out with shampoo, so it's great for mixing up your look and trying different colors out! This type of hair color is definitely best suited for small sections of hair, such as streaks or the ends of your hair.

Like I said, I had never tried hair chalk before, but its super easy to get the hang of. And I'm glad these were the first ones I tried, because they are pretty dang awesome! The color didn't fade at all until I actually washed it out. I first tried this out on my 21st birthday, and the color lasted all night, and was still just as bright after sleeping in it!

Watch my video tutorial below to find out how to use them!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  2. I have been wanting to experiment with these, but I feel that a lot of colors might not even show up on my darkest brown (almost black) hair. :( You make them look good though! <3

  4. This makes me want to bleach my hair to use them! It's so dark though you'd never be able to see them. Very cute!

  5. Ah I always wanted to try these but was so scared that they would stay in my hair. If I turned up to work (corporate environment) with coloured hair, I think I would get into a bit of trouble :( Will definitely be looking into these though!

  6. Funny how the hair chalk is laid out in similar packaging to pastel chalks for artwork. I wonder if it's the same, I mean it couldn't be too far off, right? I remember getting a hair chalk from a company to review, but with my dark hair it didn't show up too well - and it got lost in my big move from Canada to the USA. I love colourful hair so much, I miss mine - and trust me, I tried to get it recreated by another stylist who royally f'ed it up big time. I had almost black hair, with neon yellow and orange throughout it, it was well done to be honest. Ohhh the good ol' days hahaha

    1. I wondered the same thing about the pastels! It's kind of funny, they even say 'pastels' on the chalk itself, haha!

  9. Does the chalk get all over the pillow when you sleep? Can you blend different colors together?

    1. I didn't notice any staining on my pillow, but I also put my hair up when I sleep so I'm not sure if that makes much difference. And you definitely can blend colors together, that's a great idea actually! :)

  10. This is interesting. I have never seen or even heard about hair chalk. I think it is cool though, to have something so temporary but yet beautiful at the same time. Very cool.

  16. My hair is too dark to chalk but I absolutely love the look of it. I should bleach a chunk so I could play with it!

  17. Whoa I've never heard of that but very cool effect! Pastels in hair is so hot right now and that seems like an easy way to do it. Loving Nicole Richie's hair which is a lavender hue.
