You're In Brookelynn: Calm & Cool

Calm & Cool

So slowly but surely, the weather is slightly warming up. Or, at least, it seemed to be. By the time I got outside to shoot these photos (6pm-ish) I was freezing my butt off without a jacket on. It looks like the temperatures will be steadily climbing, though!

So some exciting news: this is the first time in about a year that I've been able to fit into these pants! I was so excited, I immediately tried on all of the things that were just a tad too tight that I'd still been keeping in my closet, and I'm able to fit into them too! This means that I get to wear the most awesome vintage dress that I've been saving, which my grandma gave to me. She was a tiny woman back in the day, and I used to not be able to zip it up past my ribs. But I officially can now! Go me :)

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Shirt: vintage, Jeans: thrifted, Shoes: Rue 21(old), Necklace: Forever 21
So this is probably my favorite jacket of all time. I bought it at one of my favorite stores in DeKalb, Moxie, which sells cute gift items and awesome vintage clothes. I've had this jacket since I was a freshman in high school, which was about 6 years ago, and I am still in love with it. Also, I bought this vintage top at my other favorite DeKalb store, Cracker Jax! I scored this off their $1 rack. What  bargain! If you happen to be in Nothern Illinois, I would definitely recommend going to these two stores.

Well I've got an exciting day of work and a meeting with a dance advisor at the university, fingers crossed I'll be able to officially declare a minor in dance today!

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Aw, man, so lucky! I live in Florida and we just got a random cold front. It's 45 degrees out today and we are dying! We're a tropical people, we're not prepared for this haha

Do you take your outfit photos by yourself with a tripod? I'm such a puss about going out and doing that on my own, I need to grow some guts like you!

    1. Yes I do! It's pretty awkward and I've gotten some weird stares, but I have a few places that I like to go where there aren't that many people around usually. Sometimes I have my boyfriend take my photos, too, if he's around.

It's supposed to get up into the mid-40s in the next few days, and that's pretty warm considering the past few months we've had here!

Those jeans look so great on you! That's so cool that you can fit into your Grandma's clothes. My grandma was crazy tiny too.
