What I Wore: Florals For Spring? Groundbreaking.

Oh my god, an outfit post? I haven't done one of these in ages, I know. But I finally got my act together and snapped some photos of what I wore for Easter! I spent most of the weekend at my parents house, so that also meant I had a big backyard at my disposal to take some outfit photos- I'm still trying to find my groove in taking photos on campus where other people might see me, haha.

Anyway, I think this is one of the first times I think I successfully pulled off wearing a dress as a skirt! I discovered on Easter morning that my only other black skirt mysteriously disappeared, and I was so dead-set on wearing this top with a black skirt, I got a little inventive with a dress from Aeropostale- and I actually like it even more than I would have if I wore my regular black skirt!

I am absolutely in love with this shirt- I got it on sale at JC Penny's, since our local store is closing. It was also with this shirt that I have discovered the wonders of shopping in the petite section. Usually I just shop the juniors section, mainly from habit I guess. But I saw this shirt from across the store while I was checking out, and I immediately bought it- without even trying it on (usually a mistake, I know). But this is now my favorite-fitting top!

Top: JCPenney / Dress (worn as a skirt): Aeropostle / Jacket; Gift
Shoes: Payless / Belt: H&M / Glasses: Vintage ? Plugs: Amazon

I hope you all have a lovely day! ♥

What I Wore: Relaxed Valentine's Day + Firmoo Review

Outfit Details
Top: Kohl's
Jeans: Modcloth
Shoes: Thrifted
Glasses: c/o Firmoo

Skylar and I decided to have a chill, relaxed Valentine's Day this year, which was actually really nice. We went out for lunch instead of dinner, and spent the rest of the night watching movies and hanging out with Percy. It was actually pretty great!

So about the outfit- first off, the glasses! I was so excited when Firmoo contacted me about reviewing a pair of their glasses. While these are strictly 'fashion glasses,' I couldn't be more in love! I've already worn them so many times- maybe it's because I'm not used to wearing glasses, but I am totally obsessed with how they look. Skylar helped me pick this pair out- I think he did pretty good!

Aaaaand now we're back to the daily grind. I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day and have a good week :)

What I Wore: Winter Grunge

Outfit Details:
Coat: SheInside
Plaid Shirt: JCPenny
T-Shirt: Hot Topic
Jeans: Ross
Boots: JCPenny

First outfit post of the year, guys! And I straightened my hair for it, too- and look how long it is! I'm on winter break right now, so Skylar and I decided to take a walk around campus- and ended up on the roof of the almost-empty parking garage. It definitely made for a cool backdrop for these photos (All taken by Skylar, by the way!)

Three of the things in this outfit were Christmas presents from Skylar's mom- the plaid shirt, the Fall Out Boy shirt, and the boots. It's kind of crazy how well they go together! Lately I've been into the simple 'jeans and a t-shirt' look. It's kind of a throwback to my middle/high school days of only wearing emo band t-shirts and jeans, haha. (I was probably wearing a Fall Out Boy shirt back in middle school too, lol) I like to think that my middle-school-self would think my 21-year-old-self was cool- I would have killed for this outfit back then. Haha!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It feels good to be back :)

What I Wore: Thanksgiving Break + Yoga Outlet

Outfit Details:
Dress: c/o Yoga Outlet
Jacket: Amazon
Hat: Forever 21
Shoes: Thrifted

Hey guys, I'm back! This is my first day back from Thanksgiving Break and man, was it nice to have a break! I still have one week of class and a week of final exams, but I'm on break for a month after that! I'll have a pretty busy week this week, though- the NIU football team won their last game, so that means the marching band gets to go with the team to Detriot to cheer them on in the division championships on Friday! Then, on Saturday I have one last dance performance with the NIU dance department. Whew!

So, I finally got around to taking some outfit photos over break! I got this awesome tapestry a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to use it as a backdrop. I still haven't found a place on my college campus that's relatively secluded to take photos at, so this will still have to do for now.

Anyway, I was kindly given this dress by Yoga Outlet, and let me tell you, it is the comfiest dress I own! Plus, it's on sale for almost 30% off! They actually have tons of stuff on sale, and a really awesome holiday gift shop you should check out- there is some seriously cute stuff in there!

Happy Monday everyone!

What I Wore: Transitions

Outfit Details:
Plaid Shirt: Target
Tank Top: Forever 21
Shorts: Forever 21
Shoes: Vans
Purse: Target
Hat: H&M
Sunglasses: Vintage

Happy Monday everyone! I finally had some time to go out to the park and take some photos! It was so nice to take some outfit photos somewhere other than my bedroom, haha! So, I don't know about where you guys are, but the weather here has been a little backwards. The week before fall started, it was rainy and chilly- very autumnal! But now it's soooo hot. Today it's supposed to be in the 80s! I guess I should enjoy the warmth while it lasts, but I am way too much in the fall mindset to be dealing with this heat, ya know?

Also, I don't know if it's just  me, but it seems like the leaves are changing way earlier than normal. I feel like I'm always anxiously waiting for the leaves to change, but this year it seems like it happened overnight! But anyway, even though it's probably a little too hot for them, 'tis the season for flannels and beanies! I just discovered that this is actually the only flannel/plaid shirt I own. Whaaaa? So clearly I need to go shopping. I really want some red ones. I always felt weird wearing red clothes when I had red hair, but I think red plaid would look nice with my blonde hair. What do you think?

I hope you all have a great start to your week!

Throughout the Years: Favorite Fall Looks

Guys, it's officially fall! Woohoo! The weather has been kind of weird though- it's in that period where it's crisp and fall like in the morning, but you're sweating in the afternoon. But I guess I can't complain!

Anyway, after reading The Clothes Horse's roundup of her fall looks from 2013, I thought it would be fun to roundup my favorite fall outfits that I've ever worn (on the blog, at least!) Plus, I haven't done an outfit post in a while, so I thought this may make up for it :)

Putting this post together kind of makes me miss my red hair! I definitely don't miss the upkeep, but there's something about red hair that just goes so perfect with fall, ya know?

Thanks for reading! ♥

What I Wore: Early Autumn

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Target
Top: Forever 21
Skirt: H&M
Boots: Thrifted

Well guys, fall has definitely arrived! I don't know about the rest of you, but here in northern Illinois, fall snuck right up on us! It felt like one day it was 80 degrees and and I was sweating, and the next day it was 50 degrees and I was wearing gloves and a scarf to class! Is it the same where you guys live?

That being said, this outfit would definitely not be able to be worn out in the temps we are having today, haha! But that's something tights, a jacket, and a scarf could easily fix. I'm definitely happy that I can finally break out my boots again, though! I don't know if it's just in my head, but I feel like as someone with curvy thighs and calves, boots make my legs look more proportional.

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday!

What I Wore: Back In Action!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrifted / Shoes: Target / Bag: JoTotes / Hat: Thrifted

Yay, finally getting back in the swing of taking photos! I'm still kind of trying to figure out where I am going to start taking my outfit photos. The only thing I'm really missing about living at home (other than my kitty!) is having a nice, secluded outdoor area where I can take photos and such. Now, living in a huge apartment complex on a college campus, there isn't really a whole lot of places that I can go where there won't be people all over the place wondering what the hell I'm doing. So for now, you'll be seeing lots of me in my bedroom, haha!

That being said, I am still not very close to being done decorating. I have so many things I want to do, but I don't have the time and money to do most of it, unfortunately. Mostly, I'm on the hunt for some awesome tapestries and string lights! Once I have everything finished up, I'll definitely do a little room tour :)

I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend! I need to finish a paper before midnight tonight, so I need to get on that, eeek!

What I Wore: Peace, Love, & Ukuleles

Outfit Details:
Top: c/o Yoga Outlet
Shorts: TJ Maxx
Sandals: Steve Madden
Bracelet: c/o Yoga Outlet

Happy Thursday everyone! This has been my last week of summer freedom- this Friday (tomorrow) I'll be moving into my apartment, so I've been spending most of it packing! Then, next week I start my college's marching band camp, which is super intensive- 11 hour days marching in the heat for a week...but it's always super fun! I'll probably write up a post about it next week, if anyone is curious what it's like to be in a college marching band! And then the week after that, I start school...ahh!

Well anyway, about this outfit- how adorable is this top? I was pretty dang excited to recieve it, along with this adorable bracelet, from Yoga Outlet. I've been getting into yoga a lot this summer, and this site is seriously awesome if you're in the market for cute yoga gear. Plus, they've got an awesome end of the summer sale you should check out, they've got some great basics!

Also- I whipped out my ukulele for this post! I've had it for years, and I kind of use it in spurts. I'll be obsessed with playing it and be learning all sorts of new songs for a few weeks, and then I'll forget about it for a few months. I definitely need to stop doing that, haha! I've been thinking about recording a few covers, maybe? Who knows!

Well, that was quite the random post. I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

What I Wore: 21st Birthday!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Vans
Camera Bag: JoTotes
Necklace: Forever 21

Well guys, as of Sunday, I'm officially able to legally drink, haha! I'm not a huge drinker so I didn't go crazy or anything, but I definitely had a fun weekend :) The only downside- I was sick as a dog. I'm still battling one of the worst colds I've had in a long time, which happened to appear on Friday. It seems to be letting up a little bit, so maybe I'll have a 'birthday re-do' this weekend, haha.

Also, I touched up my hair! I had to re-dye it, as the last pink faded super fast. I had used Ion Brights pastel color in Rose the first time around, and I wasn't the biggest fan of it. Plus, I don't think I left it on for nearly long enough. This time I used Manic Panic's "cotton candy" diluted with conditioner as per The Dainty Squid's method (I highly suggest reading her hair tutorials if your looking to dye your hair fun colors!) and it turned out so much better. It was actually a little brighter/darker than I originally wanted it, but it faded to the perfect color with a hot shower :)

I also added some purple with some hair chalk, but I'll be talking about that a bit more next week. Watch out for a tutorial & review!

Whelp, that's all I've got for today! How was your weekend?

What I Wore: Pink Hair, Don't Care!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Ross
Sandals: Steve Madden
Belt: H&M (old)
Purse: Target
Necklace: Forever 21

Well, as you can obviously see, I dyed my hair (light) pink! I've been wanting to do this for quite a while but kept second-guessing how it would look. Finally, I just bought the dye and got it over with! The dye I used didn't make my hair as bright of a pink as I initially wanted, but I ended up being super happy with the resulting color! I like to think of it as a blonde-pink-apricot color. I'll definitely be trying again with some Manic Panic hair color when this fades!

Anyway, enough about my hair. This dress! The way I belted it definitely makes it look like a shirt-skirt combo. It kind of looks like that without the belt anyway, but now even more so! I kept getting people saying "wow, I like your skirt!" and I eventually gave up on telling everyone "thanks, it's actually a dress!" It definitely would make an awesome skirt, though!

Happy Wednesday, cats and kittens :)
